Junior Chess Schedule 2002/2003


Unless otherwise noted, the following tournaments are OPEN to all Junior players at all playing levels. Some events qualify the winner(s) to go on to compete at Provincial or National Championships.

SITES: Vancouver Vancouver Bridge Centre (2776 East Broadway at Kaslo St.)
BCIT BCIT Student Association Campus Centre (3700 Willingdon Avenue, Burnaby)
(enter at traffic light between Canada Way and Sanderson)

NOTE: While CFC Membership is no longer required at Junior (i.e. under 20 years) events, it is necessary at any other kind of rated tournament (please see below for details).

Entry Fee: $12;
Format: 4-player quads (regular rated) or 5-round Swiss (active rated)

BCIT B.C. Provincial Chess Challenge Finals (invitational);
Players must qualify from their respective regions;
12 Sections by Grade, the winner in each grade invited to the
Canadian Chess Challenge
